If you read the tab above with banned words, you know that I am following the Iditarod this year. It begins today, and I am so excited! I am following musher Blair Braverman, who has been sharing all of the preparation required for this race. I will be posting the map in the classroom and will be moving her pin as she progresses through the wilderness of Alaska. You all complain of being cold in a 70 degree classroom! Can you imagine transversing the wilderness of snow with only a dog sled? That's the Iditarod. I will share more about the origin of this event in class on Monday. Be thinking about what it means to be a hero.
