If you understand the humor in the title of this post, CONGRATULATIONS! It is supposed to be funny. Many of you remember the Mystery Box project from when you visited for Shadow Days last year. I will introduce it this week. We work quickly and efficiently on getting the newspaper articles written. I will answer many of your questions in class. Additionally, we will continue the pronoun unit with additional practice this week and next. Finally, on Friday will be a lesson on diction - using the correct word for the situation. Sometimes students make errors in spelling homophones, sometimes in understanding the meaning.
DAY 1: Intro to the Mystery Box project, work on newspaper article basics/questions
DAY 2 and 3: Rotations of pronoun practice, newspaper article, mystery box research
Day 4: Diction
Homework this week: No journal entry - work on a fabulous newspaper article! Read your mystery/suspense novel, finish NO LATER THAN 12/8.
I will provide information about Membean, roots, and midterms on Monday in class.
