In the "homestretch"

This is the part of the school year that is close to the end, but also critical for demonstrating mastery. Keep your "head in the game." On Monday morning, all students will take the math assessment that will help determine your placement for math class next year. This assessment is only part of how your placement is determined. On Thursday in class, you will have a grammar assessment. This is the exact same assessment you took in 5th grade. You will understand more of the questions this year, and even more next year. It is not a grade. It helps us know how we are doing with teaching grammar from year to year, and I greatly appreciate your participation.

Just do the best you can with these. Don't get overly anxious; school is a marathon of many years.

IN CLASS:
Monday: Spine poetry MEET IN THE MEDIA CENTER
I will also be distributing a handout for you to work on regarding your novel.
Day 2: Blackout poetry in the classroom
Day 3: Grammar Assessment
Day 4: Verses on the Green in the morning, then final Membean test during class time.

For those of you whose recitation I did not hear on Friday, I will be listening to your poem rehearsals throughout the week, before school, during study hall, and in class when I can.

Your homework will be completing the novel handout and preparing for your cumulative final.
